Chili Cook Off Application
RULES
AWARDS
- Cook Off will be limited to a maximum of 20 contestants. First come, first serve. The competition is $10 per team. All entry fees will be donated to the soup kitchen.
- Contestants must bring their best chili in a slow cooker, hot and ready to serve. Each contestant must provide their cooking/serving utensils, tables (no larger than 6 feet), table cloths, chairs, set-up and clean-up, and any desired booth decoration.
- Power, spoons, tasting cups (2 oz), and napkins will be provided by Warehouse Distillery.
- All ingredients must come from approved food sources, so it’s absolutely safe for public consumption (no roadkill).
- Each contestant will be assigned a contestant number by the chief scorekeeper and given a styrofoam cup with lid for their chili. An official of the cook-off will deliver the chili entries to the judges for a blind taste test.
- Distillery guests may buy Raffle Tickets to vote for their favorite chili(s).
- Judges will announce the winners after votes are totaled at 2 o’clock. Once the winners are announced, chili by the bowl will be sold for $5 (by each contestant) until sold out.
- The four winners of each category will then be reevaluated by the judges to name the grand prize winner.
AWARDS
- There will be 3 judges, they will be looking for taste, aroma, texture, and flavor of chili.
- There will be category awards, a people’s choice award, and an overall grand prize winner.
- Each category winner will win a $10 Gift Card to Warehouse Distillery. The People’s Choice Award Winner will win a $25 Gift Card to Warehouse Distillery. The Grand Prize winner will win a basket of Warehouse Distillery bottles and merchandise worth $175
- The following categories will be judged. You may enter in up to 2 categories (with one chili) that apply to your chili:
- Homestyle
- White Chili
- Vegetarian (plant-based)
- Spicy
- Set-up begins at 11am
- Tasting is from 12pm-2pm in which the general public may taste & vote for the whole 2 hours.
- As this is not a ticketed event, we cannot anticipate attendance. We will sell raffle tickets in advance and give you notice of tickets sold to help estimate the crowd.
